Meomy AI Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Alicsystems Information Technology Limited (Alic Systems, “we”) handles information when you use Meomy AI. It applies specifically to the Meomy app. Our website privacy policy also explains use of the Alic Systems website.
Information you choose to provide
- Study content: questions, photos, PDFs, audio files, lecture recordings, extracted text, transcripts and messages you submit to create study materials or ask the AI tutor.
- Saved learning information: notes, quizzes, flashcards, answers, progress, folders, planner tasks and preferences. Your study library is saved on your device; signing out does not erase it.
- Account information, when you sign in: your email address and information supplied by your sign-in provider. Guest use is associated with an installation identifier.
- Support requests: your email address, message and any attachments you send us.
Information needed to run the service
Meomy uses a randomly generated installation/customer identifier to associate requests, enforce free-use allowances and validate subscription access. This identifier and some purchase or allowance records can remain in secure device storage after reinstalling the app. Our servers also process technical request information, including IP addresses, request times, errors and security logs. Apple and our subscription provider supply purchase status and transaction information; we do not receive your full payment-card details.
Why we use information
We use information to provide the feature you request, generate study materials, process recordings, answer tutor questions, save your progress, check purchases, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems and reply to support or privacy requests. We do not sell your personal information or uploaded study materials.
AI processing and service providers
When you submit content for an online AI feature, relevant content is sent to our service and the providers needed to complete your request. Depending on the feature, this can include your question, image, document text, audio, transcript, conversation history and the study material you attach. Your entire local library is not required for every request.
- OpenRouter routes AI generation, vision and transcription requests to model providers, including OpenAI and Google, as applicable to the selected feature.
- LlamaIndex / LlamaCloud may process documents when a feature uses its document-parsing service.
- Amazon Web Services provides hosting and storage used by our backend.
- Supabase provides account authentication when you sign in.
- Adapty helps manage subscription products, purchase status and subscription-related events. Apple handles App Store payments.
These providers handle information under their applicable service and privacy terms. Their retention rules can differ from our own. Do not upload information you do not have permission to share, or sensitive personal information that is unnecessary for studying. You can choose not to use online AI features or stop submitting content at any time.
Camera, microphone and device permissions
The camera and photo-library permissions let you choose or capture material. Microphone and speech permissions support recording and transcription. Live offline transcription is performed on the device where supported; submitting a recording for online processing can send audio or its transcript to the services described above. Notification permission is used for study reminders. You can change permissions in your device settings. Disabling a permission may prevent the related feature from working.
Retention and deletion
- On your device: saved materials and learning progress remain until you delete them or remove the app’s local data. Device backups and secure-storage records are managed separately by your operating system.
- On our service: uploaded content, generated results and document-search indexes are working copies used to finish processing and support the requested conversation. We use expiry-based cleanup for these working copies; cleanup timing depends on the processing feature and service operation. The server is not a backup of your local study library.
- Service and purchase records: identifiers, allowance counters, transaction status, security records and support correspondence are retained while needed to operate the service, resolve requests, prevent fraud or meet applicable legal obligations. Content expiry does not automatically remove these records.
- Your requests: contact us to request access, correction or deletion of server-held personal information, or to withdraw consent for further processing. We may need information to verify and locate your request. Tell us if you are using an older app version, because its stored records may differ.
Deleting an item from your phone does not itself send a request to erase every service-provider record. Removing the app does not cancel an App Store subscription. To request server or account-data deletion, email hello@alicsystems.com. We will explain any records we must retain and why. Provider-held records and operating-system backups follow their own deletion processes.
Security and international processing
We use access controls and encrypted network connections to protect information. No service or device is completely secure. The providers above may process information in countries other than your own; the privacy protections and legal requirements in those countries may differ.
Children and responsible study
Meomy is not directed at children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and address it. Obtain permission before recording another person or uploading their information.
Changes and contact
